Mary Cusack potter, artist, designer
About the Artist:
Mary has spent her life in the pursuit of learning new things. Years ago, she decided it would be fun to make her own plates and cups, and a passion was born. Mary is a self-taught potter who has worked her way through the decades selling pottery at art shows, involvement with arts councils, and finally, passing her appreciation for the arts on to both of her children.
While Mary still makes pottery, she is also deeply involved in the philosophy of Maria Montessori and her commitment to the “love of learning”. This peaceful approach to teacher education is at the core of how she lives her life. But it doesn’t stop there; she is also deeply passionate about nature and all that it has to offer. Through the years, Mary has dedicated herself to gardening and plant and animal identification, making a point to always respect what nature has to offer.
These things all come to play in the designs and materials used by Mary to make her clay creations. Her work is all one of a kind, so what you see here is a sampling of some of the things she has already been fortunate enough to find homes for.
If you are interested in speaking to Mary about the availability of some of the pottery items you see on this site, please contact her here, and she’ll be happy to speak with you.
